I was crying as I read 1 Chronicles 20:1-30. I always read this passage each time I face a battle which is out of my control. Just like King Jehoshaphat who was alarmed when three kingdoms assembled to wage war against him, I prayed the same prayer: “Power & might are in your hand God, & no one can withstand you. You will hear us & save us. We have no power to face the enemy that is attacking us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.”
And I claimed God’s promise: “Do not be afraid or discouraged because of your enemy. For the battle is not yours, but God’s. You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your position. Stand firm & see the deliverance the Lord will give you. Do not be afraid. Do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, & the Lord will be with you.” Then I fell down & worship before the Lord, declaring “Give thanks to the Lord, for His love endures forever.”
If you’re familiar with the story, the same ending happened to me. As I began to sing & praise, the Lord smote all our enemies by making them fight one another. Our family’s toughest problem-ever got solved!
In my heart, I believe that the Lord would restore the things that were lost & destroyed. I’m confident that JESUS will continue to fight all the battles for us. "He who did not spare His own Son, but gave Him up for us all, how He will not also, along with Him, graciously give us all things?" – Romans 8:32
